PASS is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy statement explains data collection and use practices of the site (the “Site”); it also applies to other online or offline PASS sites, products or services, unless specifically stated otherwise on such sites, products or services. By accessing the Site, you are consenting to the information collection and use practices described in this privacy statement.

Collecting Your Personal Information

PASS will ask you when it needs information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you. We may collect such personal information as your name, e-mail, country/city, job function, job title and information related to your company server environment or business requirements.

When you create a PASS Membership account, PASS will collect name, email, city/country, job function, job title, and technologies and/or databases you use. There is additional optional information that you may choose to provide as a part of your member profile that helps provide PASS with an understanding of how to better serve you as a member and understand trends for the community.

The Site may collect certain information about your visit, such as the name of the Internet service provider and the Internet Protocol (IP) address through which you access the Internet; the date and time you access the Site; the pages that you access while at the Site and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to our site. This information is used for the operation and improvement of the Site.

PASS limits the collection of personal information to that which is necessary for the purposes set out below.

Use of Your Personal Information

The legal basis for processing your personal data is based on legitimate interest. PASS understands the responsibility to protect individual’s interests and will only use your data in ways that would be reasonably expected.

The personal information collected on this Site will be used to operate the Site and to provide the service(s) or carry out the transaction(s) you have requested or authorized.

In support of these uses, PASS may use personal information to provide you with more effective educational programming, to improve the Site and any related PASS products or services, and to make the Site easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing the Site to your particular preferences or interests.

We may use your personal information to communicate with you and provide you with important information relating to your PASS membership or about the product or service that you are using, including critical updates and notifications. Additionally, and only, with your permission, we may send you information about other PASS products and services.

PASS occasionally hires other companies to provide limited services on its behalf, such as Web site hosting, packaging, mailing and delivering prizes, answering customer questions about products and services, performing member surveys, performing elections proceedings, and sending information about special offers or products. We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the service. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

PASS may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on PASS or the Site; (b) protect and defend the security, rights or property of PASS, or the Site, or PASS’ related Web sites; or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of PASS employees or agents, users of PASS products or services, or members of the public.

Personal information collected on the Site may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which PASS or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.

Except as otherwise described in this statement, personal information you provide on the Site will not be shared outside of PASS and its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates without your permission.

Please be aware that this privacy statement and any choices you make on the Site will not necessarily apply to personal information you may have provided to PASS in the context of other, separately operated, PASS products or services. Please note that SQLSaturday events, while PASS branded, are owned and managed by individual event organizers who are required to comply with GDPR guidelines and PASS’ Privacy Policy. Opt-in preferences for each event are managed by the event organizer. 

Access to Your Personal Information

Customer information is collected by and stored at PASS. You are classified as an active member if you are engaging with PASS by logging onto the Site, registering for PASS events or opening emails. If you have not actively engaged for two years, you will be classified as a dormant member. Your personal data will be flagged as dormant and you will no longer be contacted unless you take action to re-engage.

PASS is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, access to personal information is limited by strict password use to only those PASS team members and vendors who need to access it to provide the services requested or authorized, and PASS uses encryption when transmitting sensitive information electronically over the PASS website.


PASS uses cookies on this Site to ensure the integrity of the registration process and to personalize the Site. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. PASS uses Google’s Remarketing tool, and other ad affiliates, to advertise its training conferences and educational opportunities online and to allow partners of PASS to serve ads to visitors to the Site. Third-party vendors including Google may show PASS’ ads and PASS’ partners’ ads across sites on the Internet. Google, and PASS’ ad serving partners, use cookies to serve ads based on user’s past visits to the PASS website and related conference websites. PASS allows sponsors and partners to advertise to our audience through remarketing cookies, sponsorship funds generated from these types of activities are dedicated to programs that benefit the growth of the PASS community.

Visitors to the PASS website can opt-out of Google’s use of cookies by visiting Google Ads Settings page. Alternatively, visitors can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page

Use of Page Tags

PASS Web pages may use page tags to assist in delivering cookies on our sites and allow us to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services.
