Well, that’s it for another year, PASS Summit 2018 is a wrap! Thank you to all of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, volunteers, and community members who came out to celebrate this event, making PASS Summit v.20 one to remember.

One of the things I love most about attending PASS Summit is being able to connect with so many of our global PASS members from across the data industry. I’m always inspired by how diverse and inclusive our community is, and this year was no exception. From our regional spotlights in the Community Zone, to our WIT Luncheon with Lauri Bingham, and the community-led LGBTQ Meetup, it’s amazing to see the entire community taking part in these initiatives.

If PASS Summit has sparked your interest in volunteering, I encourage you to get involved. Your voice is welcome, and our community stays strong because of the unique perspectives, skills, and backgrounds of our members.

Being a community of data-driven members, I wanted to share a recap of some of the key numbers behind PASS Summit 2018:

As you can see, we had an impressive representation of (well caffeinated!) attendees across all demographics and data professions.

One key metric that stands out to me is the diversity in job functions represented at PASS Summit 2018. This shows that as well as continuing to support Database Administrators, the Program Team’s efforts to build a well-rounded, content-focused, inclusive schedule for all members of PASS, brought a two thirds share of attendees from our community that identify as something other than a DBA.

As well as the world-class sessions that take place at PASS Summit every year, this is also the best place to network, make friends, and build lasting relationships that get you connected with your data community. Throughout the event, we got to celebrate 20 stories over 20 Summits that truly highlighted how life-changing these connections can be.

I hope everyone enjoyed our v.20 Celebration and had a chance to sample some of the craft beers and video games provided by our partners, and you got to snap some fun pictures with our interstellar guests! I’d like to give a special thank you to our sponsors Microsoft, Quest, Redgate, and SentryOne for putting on this memorable event.

As we start into our 20th year, I’m looking forward to building on this momentum through the exciting initiatives and educational content we have planned for the community in 2019. From all of us on the PASS Board, PASS HQ, and the Programs Team, thank you for always making PASS Summit the highlight of our year!
