Last week I shared that the PASS Board would be voting on the 2018/19 PASS Executive Committee (ExecCo). Today I announce that the election resulted in our two longest serving Directors-at-Large moving into the ExecCo. The new ExecCo will take office on January 1, 2018.

2018/19 President – Grant Fritchey will be stepping into the role of President as Adam Jorgensen transitions into the office of Immediate Past President. Grant has served as the Executive Vice President since January 2016. As a frequent speaker at international events and a believer in a truly global data community, Grant has always endeavored to relay the perspective of the community back to the Board. This will continue to be a focus for him as PASS President.

2018/19 Executive Vice President, Finance & Governance – Wendy Pastrick will be stepping into the Office of EVP and brings with her 5 years of experience on the PASS Board. As the longest standing Director-at-Large, Wendy has lead a variety of initiatives across the organization. Wendy is currently focused on leading the innovation of PASS’s approach to educational content – driving fresh, world class content to ensure that PASS is providing our membership with the best possible learning opportunities in this ever-evolving world of data.

2018/19 Vice President of Marketing – Tim Ford will succeed Denise McInerney, who will be stepping off of the ExecCo on December 31, 2017. Tim has been a member of the PASS Board since he was first elected in 2013. During his time on the Board, Tim has lead both the SQLSaturday and Membership portfolios and is now working across the Board on PASS’s initiative to expand the educational opportunities that we provide to developers

2018/19 Immediate Past President – Adam Jorgensen will transition into the office of IPP on January 1, 2018, after finishing this term as President. Adam has been on the PASS Board since 2012 and has served on the ExecCo since 2014. The IPP serves two very important functions within the ExecCo. As the longest serving member of the committee, they provide a wealth of perspective and historical context. The IPP also has the honor of chairing PASS’s election processes.

With Wendy Pastrick assuming the role of EVP her Director-at-Large seat will be left open for a one-year term – the remainder of her elected two-year Director-at-Large term. Since the seat will not be vacant until January 1, 2018 we are not able to add it to the upcoming Director-at-Large elections.  As such, this seat will be appointed in January 2018, as per the PASS bylaws.

Please join me in congratulating our incoming ExecCo and in thanking them for their service to the community.
