PASS Outstanding Volunteers

In 2014, PASS recognized 25 Outstanding Volunteers for their outstanding work within the community and behind-the-scenes at many PASS events. PASS would not be able to do what we do without the tireless efforts of our hardworking members. See below for a gallery of our stellar volunteers and say thanks in-person the next time you see them! And don't forget to nominate someone you think deserves special recognition.

December's outstanding volunteers are Dev Nambi and Joseph Barth.

Dev Nambi has been an extremely valuable member of the Program Committee this year. His input has not only had a positive impact for this year’s program, but his efforts and analysis of the Summit evaluation and session data will be a great asset to the Program Committee as they prepare for next year’s Call for Speakers. The data was also released to the speakers and attendees, an achievement that would have been very difficult had it not been for Dev’s help. He exemplifies the behind-the-scenes hard work of the community volunteers that strive to make Summit the best ever each year.

Joseph is a dedicated volunteer who goes the extra mile when it comes to the community. Joseph co-founded the Albany, NY Chapter (CASSUG), and started helping out at the Arizona Users Group about two years ago. Since then, he has helped to make the Arizona Users Group more of a community event by starting the recurring “after-party” where the member could really get to know each other better. Now, as leader of the user group, he has worked hard to update the website, be proactive in gathering speakers for 2015, and encouraging new speakers for the group. He is the first to volunteer for anything and is absolutely reliable when it comes to a commitment – he still helped out with the local SQLSaturday event last year even with the unexpected early arrival of his new baby. Joseph can always be counted on for the little things too, including clean-up duty at the end of the day – the value of which organizers will fully understand.
