COVID-19 Update – What Are We Doing?

As an update to our previous post regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to reassure our community that PASS will take every precaution necessary to ensure the health and well-being of our members, attendees, partners, and sponsors.

PASS Summit

Currently, there has been no change to the status of PASS Summit, taking place November 10-13. We will continue to monitor health authority guidance relating to in-person events over the coming months, and provide regular updates should any PASS-hosted events, including PASS Summit, be affected.


If you are a SQLSaturday organizer and have questions about postponing or canceling your SQLSaturday event, please reach out to the PASS Community Team directly. They are dedicated to supporting you.

Although SQLSaturday events are not owned or controlled by PASS, due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, PASS strongly encourages members, leaders, and organizers to follow the health authority best practice recommendations in their areas. It is recommended to cancel SQLSaturday events no later than two weeks from the event if restrictions on people gathering continue in your area.

If your event is impacted, please follow these steps:

  1. Email the PASS Community Team directly at to let them know and ask any questions you may have.
  2. If you need to postpone your SQLSaturday event, the PASS Community Team will start by de-listing the event from and This will not impact the event website itself – all information will remain accessible by directly navigating to the URL.
  3. Add text to the home page of your SQLSaturday website providing an update that the event has been postponed.
  4. Be sure to inform all speakers, sponsors, and registrants regarding updates for the event as soon as possible.
  5. Once you have determined a new proposed date to re-schedule your event in the future, email the PASS Community Team to let them know. They will re-assess the date and once finalized, will update the event logo, re-list the SQLSaturday event etc.

If you are still planning on holding a planned SQLSaturday event and have speakers who are hoping to present virtually instead of in-person at the event, temporary GoToWebinar licenses have been made available for you to use. Please reach out to the PASS Community Team directly to request access to an account.

To provide additional information to the wider PASS community, we will be adding text to the top of the SQLSaturday website.

PASS Local Groups

If you are a Local Group Leader and have questions about running your meetings virtually, please reach out to the PASS Community Team directly for support.

Recognizing that there have been global restrictions on in-person meetings, we have made temporary GoToMeeting licenses available for Local Group Leader(s) to use to assist with hosting virtual meetings. Please reach out to the PASS Community Team directly at to request access to an account.

If you are an attendee, please reach out to your Local Group Leader(s) directly for the most up to date information related to a specific Local Group.
