Board Approves Candidate Slate for 2010 Elections

The PASS Board of Directors has approved the Nominations Committee’s slate of candidates for the 2010 Board of Directors election. Congratulations to candidates Allen Kinsel, Andy Warren, Douglas McDowell, Geoff Hiten, and Mark Ginnebaugh. And thanks to this year’s NomCom members for all their hard work. Voting is set to run Sept. 1-15.

There has been a lot of community discussion around the elections process this week. Here’s how to get up to speed on the elections procedures, related blogs and forum discussions, and the candidates’ positions:

  • Find process documents, NomCom ratings for interviewees, and many other details on the Elections portal.
  • Catch up with the latest blog posts on the Elections Discussion page, updated twice a day.
  • Participate in forum discussions about everything from election processes to candidate positions on leveraging volunteers, enhancing Chapter support, and supporting Women in Technology.
  • Visit the Candidate Campaign space to see candidate applications and platforms.
  • Follow and join the twitter conversation at #passvotes.

It’s All About Community: Why would you stay up until 4am working on a presentation and then drive 8 hours to speak at a SQLSaturday when you aren’t getting paid? Lynda Rab says it’s the same reason you’d spend hours debating the injustices of a decision you don’t agree with or pay your own way to attend PASS Summit.
