PASS Board of Directors

The all-volunteer PASS Board of Directors is comprised of a four-member Executive Committee, Directors-at-Large, Founding Partner representatives, and appointed advisers. The Board engages data professionals throughout the world who use the Microsoft data platform - as well as Microsoft executives, product teams, and developers - to help develop quality programs, educational content, and speakers for the global PASS community. The PASS Board is elected by PASS members and acts in accordance with the PASS Bylaws.

Meet Adam Jorgensen

Adam Jorgensen After eight years of service to PASS, Adam Jorgensen joined the PASS Board in 2012. Adam is a SQL Server MVP and the President of Pragmatic Works consulting. He has been leading innovative SQL Server and Business Intelligence organizations for over a decade, and his passion is finding new and creative avenues for clients and the community to embrace innovation and lower barriers to implementation. Adam holds MBAs in Finance and strategy, and he has authored a variety of articles and books on SQL Server, SharePoint, and analytics. Adam’s previous PASS service includes serving as a PASS Regional Mentor, as a member of the Regional Mentor Committee, and as co-chair of the PASS BI Virtual Chapter. Grant Fritchey Grant Fritchey joined the PASS Board in 2015. He is a SQL Server MVP with over 20 years of experience in IT and a product evangelist at Red Gate Software. A passionate and engaged member of the PASS community since 2005, Grant helped start the Southern New England SQL Server User Group and served as its president for four years. He has also served as Editor of the PASS SQL Standard magazine and worked on committees dedicated to reviewing books. A frequent PASS Summit speaker, he has volunteered on the Summit Program Committee, acted as a Summit Ambassador, and participated as a mentor with the Summit First-Timers program. Grant has written books for Apress and Simple-Talk and has worked with SQL Server since 1995. He has also developed in VB, VB.NET, C#, and Java. Denise McInerney Denise McInerney, a Data Architect at Intuit and winner of the 2007 PASSion Award, was elected to the PASS Board in 2012 after years as an active PASS Volunteer. Before becoming VP, Marketing, she was Director of Virtual Groups. She also served on the PASS Program Committee for four years, including one year as Committee Manager, and was chair or co-chair of the Women in Technology (WIT) Virtual Group for five years. In addition, she is a frequent speaker at Group meetings, PASS SQLSaturday events, and PASS Summit. Denise began as a SQL Server DBA in 1998, working at several start-ups and as an independent consultant. She joined Intuit in 2004. Thomas LaRock Thomas LaRock is a seasoned IT professional with over a decade of technical and management experience. Currently serving as a Head Geek at Solarwinds, he has progressed through several roles in his career, including programmer, analyst, and DBA. A PASS member for 10 years, Thomas has been on the PASS Board of Directors since 2009, serving as VP, Marketing, before becoming PASS President in 2014. Thomas holds a MS degree in Mathematics from Washington State University and is a SQL Server MCM, a SQL Server MVP, a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and a VMware vExpert. Tim Ford Prior to joining the PASS Board of Directors in 2014, Tim had been a PASS volunteer in some capacity since his first Summit in 2002. Currently, he is the Lead DBA at Spectrum Health and the CEO of SQLAgentMan Consultancy, specializing in SQL Server OLTP and OLAP end-to-end solutions and training. Tim is also the Founder of SQL Cruise, where he takes vacation from one job so he can work on another that helps to foster the technical and professional strengths of the next generation of database professionals. Tim has written articles for MSSQLTips.com, SQLServerCentral, Simple-Talk.com, SQLServerPedia, and theSQLAgentMan.com and is the co-author of a book on Dynamic Management Objects with Louis Davidson and creator of The Periodic Table of Dynamic Management Objects. He is also a technical speaker – and a professional development speaker along with his wife, Amy – at many events, including PASS SQLSaturday, PASS Summit, SQL Cruise, and Local Group meetings.

Jen Stirrup Jen Stirrup, of Copper Blue Consulting Ltd, joined the PASS Board of Directors in 2014. As the first European winner of the PASSion Award, in 2012, Jen has a lineage of success in supporting PASS events as part of a team in the UK, the US, and Europe. Jen successfully executed the first SQLSaturday in Scotland and runs a user group in England. She has organized Women in Technology in-person events in Europe. Before joining the PASS Board, she was co-leader of the Business Intelligence Virtual Group, procuring new speakers and volunteers. Outside of PASS, she helps organize SQL Relay and the Cloud OS Week. She has been a SQL Server MVP for three years, sharing her technical expertise with the community. Wendy Pastrick Wendy Pastrick joined the PASS Board in 2013. For the past 13 years she has served as a Database Administrator, supporting both development and production environments. Her many years of involvement with PASS include working with the Women in Technology Virtual Group and the Chicago Suburban User Group, serving as Regional Mentor for the Midwest region, and serving on both the 2011 Election Review Committee and the 2012 PASS Summit Program Committee. Wendy has organized three highly successful PASS SQLSaturday events in Chicago and spoken at numerous others around the country. She received PASS' highest honor, the PASSion Award, in 2010.

Allen White Allen is the Business Development Manager for SQL Sentry. He's been both a developer and an administrator, so understands both perspectives towards database technology, and loves sharing his experiences and helping people learn how to use SQL Server. Allen has spent over 40 years in IT, has been using SQL Server since 1992, and is certified MCITP in SQL Server and MCT. Allen has been awarded Microsoft’s MVP Award for the last nine years.

Eduardo Castro Eduardo Castro, PhD, began a two-year term on the PASS Board of Directors on January 1, 2017. Eduardo has been the PASS Regional Mentor for LATAM since 2014 and organized the first SQLSaturday in Latin America in Costa Rica. Eduardo previously served as a Board Advisor, LATAM, from 2015-16 and has worked in the IT industry for more than 18 years, focused on Microsoft Technologies.

Jennifer Moser Jennifer Moser is a 19-year Microsoft veteran with experience across marketing, technical, and program management roles. Currently, Jennifer is responsible for SQL Server Community and MVP programs. On the PASS Board of Directors, Jennifer represents Microsoft as the SQL Server marketing liaison, providing insight into Microsoft initiatives and priorities while driving PASS interests within the company.

Meet Tim Mallalieu

Tim Mallalieu Tim Mallalieu has been at Microsoft since 2002. During this time he has predominantly been in data programmability roles in the Developer Division and SQL Server groups. Tim has lead program management for a variety of domains in the data space from programming surface area like Entity Framework and the M language and runtime (now available to customers as Power Query in the Power BI suite) to in-engine components like SQL Server Columnstore to new products in the Data Programmability suite like DocDB and HDInsight. Currently Tim is part of the Azure Customer Advisory Team (CAT) where he manages a number of the technical delivery teams (program managers, engineers, and solution architects) in a variety of domains, including SQL (SQLCAT), Big Data and Analytics, HPC, IoT, general infrastructure, and development in Azure.
