As we prepare to welcome the new PASS Board members taking their seat on January 1, 2018, I wanted to take a moment to thank our outgoing Board members for their hard work and dedication to the PASS organization and community.

The following Board members will be completing their tenure on December 31:
  • Chris Woodruff – Director, Community Development
  • Jen Stirrup – Director, Special Projects
  • Denise McInerney – Vice President, Marketing
  • Thomas LaRock – Immediate Past President

Chris Woodruff joined the Board this year for a 1 year appointed term, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in developing and architecting solutions, which gave him an immediate understanding of our ever-growing technical community. Chris has been instrumental in designing much of the expanded content that we offer our community today.

Jen Stirrup has been a member of the Board for the last 4 years and has contributed significantly to PASS’ efforts in supporting the analyst and developer audiences. An active participant of the community, whether through organizing SQLSaturday and Women in Technology events in the UK or co-leading the Business Intelligence Virtual Group, Jen has always been happy to share her technical expertise.

Denise McInerney has served on the Board for the last 6 years and has been a strong advocate supporting Women in Technology and for giving female data professionals within our community more opportunities. Denise has driven improvements to our communication strategies and was responsible for leading our efforts around Business Analytics.

Thomas LaRock has been a member of the Board for the last 10 years and is one of the longest serving PASS Board members. He was a champion of our First-timers program, PASStv, and in bringing PASS Summit to new and global audiences. He has always been passionate about representing the community in our Board meetings.

As we prepare for this transition, I’d like to welcome our incoming Board members: John Martin, Chris Yates, and Diego Nogare. We look forward to the contributions and new perspectives of this regionally diverse Board of Directors as we continue to grow our PASS programs.

I'd also like to welcome our newly appointed Microsoft representative, Lindsey Allen, to the PASS Board. Lindsey is the Partner PM working on the Azure SQL database and SQL Core Engine, and brings with her over 20 years of engineering experience at Microsoft.

Starting in 2018, your new executive committee will be Grant Fritchey, Wendy Pastrick, Tim Ford, and myself. Feel free to reach out to us at any time, we love hearing your feedback and suggestions.

Please join me in thanking all of our outgoing Board members for their service and in welcoming our new Board of Directors starting in January.
