In years past, we would have announced a call to the community for volunteers and the upcoming call for speakers for this year’s PASS Summit by now. Some of you may be wondering why we haven’t done that yet, and I wanted to take this opportunity to walk through that with you.

As you may have read in the PASS President’s recent blog, 2017 is a big year for the organization. We have realigned our portfolios and, in the Educational Content portfolio, we will remain focused on ensuring that PASS delivers world-class education to data professionals 365 days a year. Enhancing what we do now and ensuring the long-term wellbeing of our members and organization is a high priority for us.

At Summit we want to ensure that our content is fresh and that the changes in tools, technology, and practices which occur throughout the year and across the industry, are as up-to-date as possible when we meet in Seattle.

To achieve this, we have adjusted our timeline and will be launching our call for speakers in May. Long-time community members and speakers will recall that in past years, April/May was the time that we originally called for content.

In the meantime, we are going to be reviewing the feedback we have received from PASS Summit 2016 attendees, conducting industry research, and working with our Program Management Team to ensure that our approach for Summit will deliver content that is relevant, practical, engaging, and fresh.

I will share more information on the call for speakers and Summit program as we continue to work to deliver you the best possible Summit learning experience.
